What if I want to change my address/color/size?
If you would like a different color or size from what you’ve chosen on Indiegogo, please feel free to change your choice in the final survey on Backerkit. We’ve already ordered a ton of material based off your choices in the on Indiegogo, so please change it only if you ABSOLUTELY have to.
You are free to edit your order (ie. color/size/MIPS/shipping country) on Backerkit until your survey has been locked. We will send you a notification when we are about to lock your Backerkit survey. After that, changes to your order CANNOT be accommodated.
You can update your shipping address within the same country until your address gets locked. Once you have submitted your answers, you will receive a confirmation email with all the details of your pledge.

I want to get more helmets. How do I do that?
You have the option to add more helmets for the special Indiegogo price in the BackerKit survey. You can add more Ultra helmets and choose the size and color you like.
Last updated: February 02, 2021 01:19
Does it come with MIPS? What is MIPS?
Definitely! Everyone will have the chance to upgrade the helmet and add MIPS as an option for selected colours and sizes.
MIPS stands for Multi-Impact Protection System, and is a helmet-integrated brain protection system designed to provide additional brain protection in the event of angled or rotational impacts.

Last updated: January 24, 2021 20:05
Does MIPS impact the size of the helmet?
While in our past helmets the MIPS layer has made it slightly smaller on the inside, thanks to the MIPS/retention system integration that we’re utilizing for Ultra, that is not the case here.

What sizes are available?
Ultra is the helmet for everyone. It is available in the sizes S, M-L and XL, and all have an adjustment system to adjust the tension.
Size S: 51 - 55 cm (20 - 21.6 inch) Size M-L: 54 - 61 cm (21.3 - 24 inch) Size XL: 61 - 65 cm (24 - 25.6 inch)
It’s a simple task to measure your head size. Grab a measuring tape and place it around your head, mid-forehead just above your ears. Make sure you keep it leveled and read the cms/inches.
Please note that adding MIPS to your helmet does NOT affect the size of the helmet.

Which helmet size should I get? I’m just between sizes.
If you are just in between sizes, we recommend a size that’s bigger rather than smaller, since the bigger one can fit smaller heads, but a helmet that’s too small will be uncomfortable.
It’s a simple task to measure your head size. Grab a measuring tape and place it around your head, mid-forehead just above your ears. Make sure you keep it leveled and read the cms/inches.
Borderline between M/L and XL
If your head is 61.0 cm or less, we recommend you go with the M/L size.
If your head is > 62.0 cm, we recommend you go with the XL size.
If your head is in-between 61.0 - 62.0 cm, this is a little tricky and a bit of a toss up. M/L could fit you, but XL is probably the safer bet.
Borderline between S and M/L
If your head is 55.0 cm or less, we recommend you go with the S size.
If your head is > 55.0 cm, we recommend you go with the M/L size.

I cannot find my country on the shipping list/it says that shipping to my country will cost $999. Why?
As mentioned on our Indiegogo campaign page, we ship to selected countries worldwide. We wish we could ship to more locations, but we’re a small team and we’ve learnt the hard way that shipping a smart helmet with batteries in it to any and all countries in the world is not actually feasible for us at this stage. We DO ship to the following countries:
- The contiguous United States & Canada
- The UK, EU & Norway
- Singapore & Malaysia
- Australia & New Zealand
If your country is not in the list, perhaps a family member or friend could receive the helmet on your behalf? There are also companies that offer mail forwarding services, and which might be a solution to allow you to receive Ultra even if you do not live in a country we ship to.

Can I change/cancel/refund/exchange the accessories I have ordered in Backerkit?
You are free to change and cancel any items you have added to your pledge in the Backerkit survey until the deadline. We will post an update on Indiegogo to let you know when we are about to lock the Backerkit surveys. Once your order has been locked, your credit card will be charged. We will then no longer be able to facilitate any changes and cancellations.
The support we get from our Indiegogo backers is what enables us to run and grow our business, gather customer feedback, design new products and improve existing ones. The funds we receive are allocated to various parts of the project, like product development and manufacturing. Hence we cannot afford to allow refunds and exchanges on the accessories/add-ons/apparel after your order has been locked.

I just got my survey confirmation email, I see both Indiegogo and BackerKit reward choices, which is right?

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Last updated: January 24, 2021 20:19

We really apologize if you live in a country that we do not ship to. If we don’t ship to your country, believe us, we really wish we could. Unfortunately we’re a small team and we’ve learnt the hard way that shipping a smart helmet with batteries in it to any and all countries in the world is not actually feasible for us at this stage.

Last updated: January 20, 2021 00:20
I don’t want two remotes. Can you leave out Ultra Remote and send me the Lumos Remote at a discounted price?
It is logistically too complicated since all Ultra helmets leave the factory with the Ultra remote (Remote Lite) included. However, we have decided to offer the Lumos Remote to our backers at a discounted price. The price for the upgrade will be the same as if we would have left out the Lumos Remote Lite. The benefit is therefore passed onto our backers who will get a spare remote in case they need one, at no extra cost.

No, but it does have rear turn signals. Our goal was to create a great helmet for you for a very budget friendly price. Due to this, and because of the design of the helmet, we had to decide to give up on the front turn signals. The rear turn signals are present and they will help you better communicate with cars coming from behind. The helmet protects your head and the lights make you more visible on the road.

Currently our gesture recognition feature only works with Apple Watch. It is compatible with series 1 and above; provided you run watch OS version 4.2 or above.
At our team’s current size it simply isn’t feasible to work on expanding the gesture recognition feature to other smartwatches. That said, you still have various options to activate the turn signals. You can do so with the Ultra Remote, any other Lumos Remote or the Lumos companion app.

Although fast charging is not supported by Ultra, we have decided to go with an USB-C charging cable for convenience and longevity reasons.

Can't find survey - For people who log into Indiegogo with their Apple ID.
For people who log into Indiegogo with their Apple ID. This is a special note for backers who have pledged to the Indiegogo campaign using their AppleID.
Backers who have pledged to the campaign using their AppleID but haven’t completely set up their Apple Pay account (linking their email address to their Apple Wallet) will have issues receiving their emails from BackerKit.
If you have a @[email protected] email address linked to your Indiegogo account then you will need to reach out to BackerKit Support to update your email address in BackerKit.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
